Probably very stupid Q re: Kaoss pad as DJ effects box

Post by alexanderbeetle » Thu Jun 26, 2008 10:12 am

I've just got a Kaoss pad to use for DJ'ing and I've hooked it up to my Technics SH-1200 Mixer on the aux send. However, I can't seem to get a decent level (either on the send pot or the input vol) without getting a lot of undesirable feedback. Some settings in particular just start making wildly horrible noises. Have I set this up wrong somehow? Any ideas of where I might be going wrong? Ta!

Check send/direct switch on the back of the KP3 - should be set to send.

Also if getting feedbackback through the mixer, sounds like you are sending from the master out rather than an A/B channel.

I dont know that mixer however.
Nothing to see here - move along!

Yeah, it's set to send, so that shouldn't be a problem. As for the output that I'm sending from - I wondered about this too - but I have a choice of Line (presumably 'master'), Rec, or Monitor. All of which give the same result of feedback awfulness.
