Problem capturing new arrangement

OK, I'm new using Live, but when I play an arrangement, and go to Session View and change the arrangement on the fly (so that the Back to Arrangment button lights up) manual says I am supposed to be able to capture my new arrangement by activating the record button and then either deactivating it or stopping Live.

This is what I am doing, but when I go back to arrangement view, nothing has changed. The new arrangement I've just played is not there, only the previously saved arrangement. I've tried hitting record while the track is still playing, and also after stopping (and then disabling record), neither works.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

are you hitting the global record, or the track record? you should be pushing global record...
