audio delay when launching clips in Live 7
I've been experiencing a problem with Live 7 (fully updated) that could have a very negative impact on my DJ performances. I just recently switched from a PC to a new MacBook with a 2.1 ghz dual processor but only 1 GB of RAM (I plan on upgrading soon.) My problem is that when I launch clips in session view (my global quantize is always set to 1 bar) they will sometimes start to play, i.e. the play icon next to the clip will be solid indicating that it has successfully launched, but without any sound. When this happens the sound always kicks in one bar later than when the clip launched (i.e. two bars after I clicked play.) Can this problem be fixed by upgrading my RAM ? Is there anything else I can do to try and fix it before then? I have gigs coming up and need to resolve this as soon as possible.

No honestly I am having the same problem and I have 4 GB of Ram and the newest Quadcore Macbook Pro. Does it happen after your computer is sleeping and you wake it up? I have been able to get around this problem by rebooting my computer and reloading my Live set right before the show. In other words, I go in fresh for my live performances by restarting everything. This has been my fix so far.
It seems like a drive issue and not a RAM issue although Ableton has not been able to successfully address this problem???
Keep me posted and I will do the same...hope that helps but I would like a more solid answer!!!!

This sounds like a bug in Live to me. All the standard questions come up - Can you reproduce it reliably? Are both of you guys using the same hardware/OS/something else? Have you contacted tech support? Are there any Ableton devs reading who might be able to shine some light on the issue?
Best of luck to you both.
