So I came across this while searching for simple midi foot pedal solutions.
http://www.kinesis-ergo.com/foot.htm
Im interested to see if anybody has tried using this thing as a midi trigger. My brief glance at it (at work right now) gave me the impression it could sort of be set up like a "hotkey" method. And if that's the case...could we not just map a key to a midi parameter and use this pedal to trigger?

You probably could if you want to deal with the software turning your keys into MIDI messages. There isn't as much software out there as there is devoting MIDI to keystrokes. So why not just get a controller that sends MIDI. It seems that the build quality is better for saving up just a couple hundred more dollars. They also give you more switches to press without much more complexity. The Kinesis switches don't really seem like a great investment.
