A little help with Ableton & Apogee Duet set up

Post by djzmo » Wed Aug 06, 2008 1:15 am

I'm having some trouble with my Apogee Duet & Ableton set up. Whenever i drag a song from iTunes/Live's browser which hasn't already been converted to .wav and sent to the decoding cache to the session view and there is a song already playing on an audio track, i hear a clicking/popping sound. I've tried changing the buffer size but had no success, every time I do this with an undecoded .mp3 I get this annoying glitchy sound which i think it's unacceptable for live gigging.

To all apogee duet users, please try this:

Play a track on audio track #1, drag some track from iTunes which hasn't been decoded to .wav yet on the decoding cache (user>music>ableton>live recordings>decoding cache on a mac) and hear if there is any glitchy sound when you do this.

Thanks in advance

P.s. I already communicated with apogee and they said their engieneers thought it was an ableton issue.

I think this is a know issue from apogee.

They already known that swapping/alterning from another applications instances to and from Live (or other Daw), makes noise from the Duet, meaning some pop & crackles.

Maybe you can try to drag&drop from inside the daw browser.
