Progression Templates / Scale Templates?

Post by truetrev » Sat Aug 09, 2008 6:54 pm

So before my old comp crashed I had programmed all the major scales and some fun progressions into little midi templates so I could drag and drop to play with ideas on airplanes etc.

I'll probably have to go back in and recreate these but anybody done something similar and wanna share?

How cheap do hard drives need to get before people back stuff up?

If it's any consolation, you'll probably recreate them twice as fast and much better the second time around.

truetrev - the scale plug in does all that very nicely. it looks odd but play with it a bit, input notes are the x-axis, the output notes are on the y-axis.

Really... Hmm i'll have to check that out. Gonna do a little googling now to find a tutorial or something.

Any other plugins/doodads you pro's recommend that can help with my lack of music theory knowledge?

It's honestly not that hard to learn a little bit. The benefits you'll get from doing a bit of reading will far outweigh what you'll get out spending time trying to find some VST.

Some of these may or may not even be available from your favourite software websites.
