Thats the missing feature which still forces me to use Boss RC-50 Loopstation!
Audio Overdub: I want to record as many takes as I want into one Audio Clip!
Please check out the Boss Loopstation and the Loopmachine in Native Instruments Guitar Rig - I don't want to use them, but I still have to!!!
Audio Overdub
meh
I wanted this for a long time, but I swear if you can adjust your paradigm in how you look at loop recording, having each pass on a new clip is actually great. So much flexibility, for instance the ability to adjust the levels of each loop, to apply effects to each loop, also to stop and start each loop on it's own or together via scene lauches. You can record different versions of a loop in the different slots on a track and set up follow actions for generative variations in your songs.
For the best of both worlds you should check out the Sooper Looper at essej.net, assuming you're on a mac. It emulates the gibson echoplex and works well with Live as an AU.
I guess it would be nice, but try and build a set with each loop on a new track and you may find a new way of looking at performace looping... I have.
