Grouping Tracks

Post by djshanemartin87 » Fri Aug 29, 2008 2:42 pm

Okay pretty easy one i think, can someone steer me in the right direction as to where i can find some reading on grouping tracks like drums synths pads etc and why its important. Also where i can on 4 fx chans long delay short delay etc and why that is also important so i can get a better understaning of what it actually does .. and if someone could explain (simply) how i create and route my tracks the these return channels in live 6 because im having difficulty doing so

Thanks in advance,

Shane

um...

1. complete sentences make things more clear.

2. "group tracks" is what other programs call a function Ablerton Live does not have. You can "route" several tracks to another track, and the manual has a very nice section on audio routing.

3. where you can on 4 fx chans long delay short delay etc? I dont understand.

4. routing channels to a return track is as simple as turning up the send knob. i.e. turn up "Send A" knob. there you go.

you have to turn on "Latency compensation" in the main manu.

You can route avery track to anew track that has monitor "on"I recommend to set input source of the buss as "no input", to avoid feedback from mikes you may have connected.
