map midi channel changes to PCR pads?

Hi y'all-
I've been using Live as an instrument host for my, well....live setup for a while. Basically I have a bunch of different VSTs on different midi channels and switch back and forth as I need them.
I have been using the PCR-800 as my midi controller and it has a rotary controller that is used to switch between different midi channels. However, it's started to become problematic for me, since sometimes in the heat of the moment I flip past the channel I need.
I'm wondering whether there is a way to set up the pads on the PCR to change midi channels...I've looked through the manual, and though the pads can be used to make program changes, there isn't a way to get them to change channels (as far as I can tell...I tried using the PCR editor as well and no dice).
I'm convinced though that there has to be a way to do it. I *think* that I may have seen a post on here in the past with a method of doing it on MidiOx or something. Maybe there's a way to do it in MAX? If there is, I'll need a tutorial....I just bought MAX and don't reeeaally know how to use it yet. at all.
Thanks in advance for your responses!
