Dj Mixer/Audio Interface

Post by xxxmorphicxxx » Sat Sep 06, 2008 11:13 pm

Does any company make a good combo? Or just recommend a controller in general. I've searched the forums and am overwhelmed.

I've been looking at the BCD3000 from behringer and I just came across the Hercules DJ console.

I'm going to be using this for DJing with either Virtual DJ, Traktor, or Live.

I own virtual dj and live, and i'm going to do a trial of Traktor.

Can anyone give me some advice on a decent budget controller to do cueing, crossfading with? I also like the wheels on the two controllers I listed for some mp3 scratching and cueing. I'd like one that is a combo soundcard so I would only need my laptop and the unit, but I'm open for any suggestions.

Thanks!

I have a BCD3000 and it integrates really well with Traktor. My main complaint is that it's so small which may seem like a stupid complaint but I'm used to DJing with traditional gear and the compactness makes you feel kind of cramped in. That's just my taste though.

I wouldn't see myself using any of those DJ style mixers with Live though because I don't really see any purpose for the jog wheels and you have limited access to just a couple tracks.

Tried the RMX on Musik Messe. Similar to Vestax but cheaper, well build, wheels feel nice (have breaks)
Stay away from any audio of Behringer- the only actually useful products are BCF and BCR
