We are big ableton users and figured if we found folk on the ableton site who were ableton users they might be similar to us so below is our blurb...
(Whilst you read on please check out our website www.duologuemusic.co.uk where you can listen to our tunes)
We are currently a two piece who have been working on a collection of songs together for over a year now. Our influences are broad (Radiohead, Bjork, Jeff Buckely, Beirut, Aphex Twin, dubstep.....) with the aim of the project being to combine vocals and instruments with live electronics and beats.
We have performed regularly as a two-piece, along with a violinist, however we want to form a proper band to perform the songs genuinely live without sequencing synth parts etc. With two more people on board we would be able to create a really exciting, really live performance where everything, including the electronics, is done on stage.
We are therefore looking for two people to join us...
1, A Bassist, to play bass guitar, the bass synth parts (we have the synth) the parts arent too tricky, also possibly pick up a guitar now and then and if you could sing a bit (backing) that would be a bonus.
2, A Guitarist - we both play guitar but as one of us will take over doing beats and electronics we are looking for someone to play lead / acoustic. Preferably someone who's keen on exploring the weirder interesting side of guitar playing, not a thrasher and not someone who whats to start finger tapping. Not every song has guitar on it, but the idea is to have a group of versatile musicians, so hopefully you can play keyboard a bit too. The next Johnny Greenwood would be ideal...
ABOUT US
We are two 27 year olds from london, we have been playing together for 2 years. We record at home, and both play guitar, keyboards and programme using ableton live. We have focused on songwriting and recording, however our live aspect hasnt really been realised yet. We were recently picked as Steve Lamacq Unsigned Winners and have been played out on BBC 6 and Resonance FM by Nick Luscombe.
We want to do this as a career and know that we can, feedback has been great, from industry folk and promoters, and we're trying to do something new and genuinely interesting. We are looking for a couple of people as outlined above, what is really important is you're keen to do this properly and to try and make it as a band. Initially it would be a matter of learning parts and the songs, and practising together to get the sound tight, then we would be at a stage to rewrite stuff, tweak and work on new material, hopefully with everyone's input.
If you're interested and think you fit what we are looking for please email us at:
