copying clips *without* overwriting the track envelope

Is this possible? I'm sure i saw something in the manual when i first got live but can't find it again.

would be so nice not to have to re-do all my envelopes after making a small tweak to one clip and wanting to propagate that change to other clips.

there is a lock button top right above the track names in arrangement. click that button so its active. this is the automation lock button. shit won't change.
