I've seen it...I've heard awful things about Stantons customer service, and from people who know gear, which makes me skeptical of anything they make. I haven't heard anything from anyone who's used this item, so I'll reserve judgment for now, but it looks interesting from the ads I've seen.

Also, you'll probably want to edit your topic title - I don't see anything about Serato on the page you linked, and I'm pretty sure that Rane is pretty much the only distributor of DJ hardware that works with Serato products, not Stanton.

Edit: As I read more through the links on that page, I did read that you can use this item with Serato, but you still need the CD's/Records, and you still need the Rane hardware.

As for use with live goes, it seems like any other controller, except this one's MIDI setup is based on Bome MIDI translator, so if the controller doesn't flat out shit the bed, it should work just fine, in theory.

Good point :)

I saw another video with the guy using Serato Scratch with it and wasn't thinking.

Not sure how to amend the post title :?

$250 could be OK for some people, portable, seems laid out OK.

I like the idea of an affordable touch surface controller, I'm just really skeptical about Stanton...if it were $150, I'd probably give it a try myself.

It's a shame it seems more compatable with 'Scratch' type software packages.

Shame we couldn't get something similar that is more 'Ableton' specific.

Seems to me that as far a DJ'ing the other software packages like scratch and traktor are overtaking live with the way the midi controllers are laid out.

Pity we couldn't get a more modern 'touch' version of the Faderfoxes - Then I really would be happy :D :D

Or maybe even Ableton could do it 8O 8O 8O

The selling point for this is the affiliation with Bomes. Bomes is without a doubt the most useful audio related app there is. I love it.

Anyone here ever tried a DM2 with the DM2Midi software? That software absolutely fuckin' rocks. It's a great shame that some other hardware cannot utilise the DM2Midi software.

Please, for the love of God, can someone hack the DM2Midi Software!

(The original software was written by a guy called Pdoom. I've tried to contact him but he doesn't support this software anymore).

Honestly - the conversions/macro's/actions that are available in this software are awesome. If this could be used in conjuction with any old controller/keyboard and Bomes, you'd have such control at your fingertips...

I know this is just supposed to emulate 1 deck but I wish they put some kind of crossfader function on it. I know it allows you to control 2 decks with an A/B button but that isn't going to be too smooth or helpful when trying to lower the volume of 1 deck and bringing the other 1 up.

think i read somewhere that they made this with the intention of it being linked with other products of theirs to build your own custom system. I can only assume that this is the reason it doesn't allow that kind of control of different decks
