Dead Dogs and Patrick Swayze

Post by vlantis » Thu Oct 16, 2008 1:17 am

Hey boys and girls, I thought I’d let you know that my friend posted two songs that I mastered and played keys on using Live.

Everything in “A Time not to be Nice” was played by me, although my friend wrote it and does vocals. It’s about Patrick Swayze. This is not the final mix, so it’ll sound a bit different later.

“Emily Dog” is an ode to two dogs (one is no longer with us). I added a little atmosphere to it, but kept it to a minimum. I really liked this song when I heard it. It’s really sad without having any obviously sad lyrics.

There’s also an older song I helped with called “Let Your Voice be the Theremin” which I’m going to mix myself using live (it was originally mixed by my friend in Garage Bang) so it should sound better pretty soon.

My friend records everything using a ten dollar mic and Garage Band, so some stuff shows the equipment’s limitations. I’d loan him my equipment, but I live on the other side of the world.

Enjoy! Feedback is always welcome!
