Re: MacOS Big Sur and M1 (Apple Processor) support

I am on an M1 MacBook Air... So it may work with Big Sur, but it doesn't appear to load on M1 apple silicon. I was about to contemplate Soundtoys due to the sale, too... dang... EDIT: I just read the full comment saying it SHOULD work on Apple Silicon. Let me try again. Will update. EDIT: ILOK WORK...

Re: MacOS Big Sur and M1 (Apple Processor) support

Love this. Seems like Rosetta 2 is miles above what Rosetta 1 was. 8) I've got an old as the hills 2012, and I was about to buy a laptop when Apple announced the Apple Silicon Arm etc. move. I'm waiting for the 16", but it's great to know those of you that bought the 13" are doing just fine. Most r...

Re: Live 11 is coming !!!

Personally I am in. The new features and possibly a Universal Binary version for M1 Macs looks promising to me. As an Ableton User and an ICT worker, I am observing the slow revolution in the industry. While Big Tech like Google, MSFT, Oracle, Amazon are moving to the cloud services and software thi...

Re: Is my iMac too old for Ableton Live 10?

iMac 21.5" Late 2013 here with 8GB RAM on 10.14. Booting from external USB 3.0 enclosure and SSD, otherwise the internal 5400 RPM is very slow. Live 10 Suite - no problems. The Ableton Live 10 Performance Test shows I can make 64+ tracks of the Lesson Project with no problems. At 128 I got 100% CPU ...

Re: Apple silicon

Personally, I like Live as a computer program rather than tablet app. However some simplified Live version for tablet might arrive but I don't see how this would fit in. Even Apple did not push for Logic on the iPad. Garageband is good enough to play with but IMHO far from professional use especiall...

Re: Apple break from Intel

This apple arm news are really exciting, best thing that has happen in the last 20 years running ableton on the ipad and mac computer and IOS apps on a Mac can become a reality. I wanted to update my computer ( windows 10 i7 3770k) and maybe get a laptop but I am going to wait for that and see what...

Re: Apple break from Intel

Thanks for points of view! my old iMac is still good enough. I saw some of you with 6 core Intel Mac Mini. How does it work? Is Ableton multi core Multi Thread engine jumping around cores or all is smooth? Thanks as Mac Mini is one of my choice now to bridge the change especially now that has been r...

Apple break from Intel

I look back in 2006 when I had my first black Macbook, Intel Based. It took time to stabilize the ecosystem and now Apple announce it again yesterday at WWDC. It seems the switch to ARM is imminent even though it was pointed out that Intel Macs will be around and supported for years to come and some...

I'd definitely want to record my stereo guitar effects as stereo!
That's the Tarekith I remember always giving good advice. Happy to know you're still virtually here. :-)

Suggest what it's worth to record in Stereo

This my first post after years... I have been away but finally getting back making music again. Many years ago when I got Live 4 I had only guitar pedals. Then it was the time of multi-fx devices with stereo output. Usually I record Guitar and Bass as Mono tracks and Keyboards / Drums as Stereo Trac...

Re: macOS High Sierra compatibility (release)

Tarekith, did you upgrade or under testing? Yes, I have run High Sierra with the latest version of Live and it worked just fine for me Other than a small issue with the firmware of my DAC (being fixed as we speak), everything worked exactly the same for me as under Sierra. But I tend to keep a pret...

Re: macOS High Sierra compatibility (release)

The response Ableton gave to CreateDigitalMusic when they asked about High Sierra compatibility was: "We have no known issues open for the upcoming High Sierra (10.13) update from Apple. We ensure a functional version of Live on this OS from version 9.7.5 which is due for release mid October. Befor...
