I don't understand the 'sync' and 'remote' columns in the preferences. What is the difference? How do you know if you need the button set to 'on' or 'off'?

If I cmd+drag 5 different kick drums to note C1 in a drum rack, they all play at once. Is it possible to toggle between samples so that you can select them independently?

I'm wondering how to do this same thing. Trying to do so with keyboard shortcuts opposed to a MIDI controller, but essentially the same thing. Changing the default assignments to all available commands.

I'm using live 8. I looked all over the manual and video's and I can't figure out how to assign a shortcut command to a function that does not have a button on the screen.
Is there a way to pull up a menu of all assignable functions inside Live?
