Automation change based on midi note
Anyone know if it's possible to have live change an automation parameter based on which notes are pressed. Example: You have a basic piano Sampler on a midi track, as you are playing that Sampler, you want various automation parameters to change based on what you are playing. I want to cause a Send ...

Re: SubBass like Logic
Well, I answered my own question. I just created an instrument rack with an Analog with 1 Osc generating a basic sign-wave at -1 Octave and it's perfect.

Re: SubBass like Logic
Ok. Starting to understand exactly what it does. Apparently it's generating sign waves with matching harmonics of the low freq set then mixing it in. Looks like Lowender by reFuse simulates this. My guess is that I'll get better results by generating my own sign playing along with the music, a sub ...

SubBass like Logic
Any idea how to approximate the SubBass plugin within Logic? I have the same track loaded with Live and Logic and they sound identical switching, applying the SubBass plug-in in Logic with the simple Bass Booster preset gives this nice deep warmth. I've tried EQ, I've tried a multi-band compressor ...

Re: Best tutorials EVER!
Yeah, thanks Mr. Bill. This is great stuff. Went through them all yesterday. About time someone made some fast and technical tutorials. Don't listen to the haters. Learned a lot.
I'd really like to see someone make some multi-track tutorials for vocals and guitars in Live. Not so much the ...

Re: Anyone seriously use arrangement?
Cubase and logic are so bloated, CPU hogs, more features then I need. No built in sampler, Gimmick Instruments like Groove Agent One, EXS24 is so ugly and tedious to use, stupid windows open all the time and get in the way etc etc. No thanks. Those days are over...

Well, Reaper was an install demo...and...uninstall. It feels like its price.

Re: Anyone seriously use arrangement?
* Just a quick couple things: you can fade in and out individual clips using crossfades, there's just no "cross" to it. Enable fades and pull in on the handle, set the curve how you like it.
Ah, you're right. I never noticed that. Thanks. That is helpful.
Aliased regions are a plague, haha ...

Anyone seriously use arrangement?
Are there any serious Live arrangement users here? If so, how many tracks? What are your day to day workflows like? What style of music?
I've been pushing really hard to use the arrangement view in v8 and I just keep running up against walls, again. I've been using Live on and off since v2 or so ...

Clip differentiation in arragement view
I have a really hard time seeing the edges of the clips and the loop points. The loop points, the little notches displayed when a clip is dragged beyond its length and begins to loop, are just tiny and there is no difference between actual content and the looped content, visually. I would think that ...

Re: Shortcut for Activate/Deactivate clip(s)
There is no keyboard shortcut? I was just about to ask the same question. You've got to be kidding. The arrangement setup really needs an overhaul. Keyboard shortcuts for common editing tasks!

Yeah, that too. I've been using Logic with the mixer and other details maximized on a second mon and it really makes a huge difference. I've pretty much given up on Live as an arrangement tool. Love it for session but...

Thanks. It's kind of frustrating having a large monitor and being so confined to that little box.

Nothing huh? I guess it is a fixed height.
