Set up multiple Midi channels and route the the midi channels to the channel you want. That will allow you to have multiple clips playing the same VST/Ableton instrument at the same time.

This is an extremely poor design decision in my opinion. The aesthetics that I want in a UI are vastly different than the aesthetics that I desire in a programming environment. I can change the way Live looks to make it easier to program in Max for me but then it looks hideous when I'm working with ...

More midi editing functions

One thing that really bothers me about live... theres not even a function to reverse midi data.

Maybe a quick chop function like in FLStudio and EnergyXT. Which is really useful not just for drum rolls but it also speeds up composition.

The midi editing functions in live are really really basic ...

Do you mean the preview function? When you click on a sound in the browser it starts playing it?
