do you actually have a BCD2000 hoffman2k? These have been "shipping soon" since Feb 2005..... I'd really like to hear from someone that actually has one.

I think the software they're providing is windows only....

but if it's a standard USB audio interface and standard midi controller it will work under mac os x with no drivers required...

that's two pretty big if's.... but I might well take the chance on one of these buying it from somewhere that ...

but still the Xone has many more controls and replaces three seperate items of kit.

Just get a good quality simple analog mixer
(the old Allen & Heath models are good)

Then get a good USB/Firewire DAC/interface for the computer.
Plug it's output through the main mixer.

And buy a couple of these to control the laptop....

I got an answer back from ableton....

live 2.1 xs mac version has no serial number...

you need to contact them direct show them a copy of your receipt for the purchase of the x-session and you can get the upgrade offer.

I've emailed ableton and got no reply....

can anyone else that bought a an Evolution X Session let me know if they got a serial for Live 2.1 XS version and if so where was it located?

eg on the cdrom, on an insert in the X Session box etc...

don't want to miss out on the upgrade offer

has any announcement been made on support for OSC protocol?

OSC is designed to be a replacement for midi, supports communiction over ethernet higher resolution controllers than midi, better clock sync etc....

i doubt it, their not shipping yet.... they were only announced 24 hours ago

but the new mac minis have built in 5.1 sound through spdif outputs

so you might not even NEED a box if you only want 2 outputs + 2 monitoring

I have a qualifying product, live xs 2.1 but there doesn't seem to have been a serial number provided with it?

what to do...

I found my original install cd that came with the X Session controller.

Live XS 2.1 OS X is on the cd....

but it doesn't seem to have a serial or need one, it installs and runs
without asking for one.

so how do I take the upgrade offer to live 5?

got my 200 euros ready to go...

the MacBook pro's will almost certainly get a price drop and a slight refresh (faster cpu and gpu) in June at the WWDC...

can you wait that long for a new computer?

I'm waiting til Final Cut Studio is native (and I can read the reviews of it) to take the plunge personally.

I only just realised I have TWO copies of live lite that came with my XSessions controllers...

but I never used them cause they are pc versions and I have a mac....

does anyone know are the serial numbers cross compatible?

eg can I use my live xsession pc serial to upgrade to live 5 mac version ...
