What is the latency like with the M-Audio Firewire hardware? Is it possible to record audio monitoring through Live, or only usable monitoring mic/line input?

... so maybe none of the 100+ people who looked at this post are using a MOTU 896 with their Powerbooks, but what about Digidesign, Edirol, MAudio, Metric Halo, Presonus, RME, Tascam, Yamaha ... ?

In a word ... No! Only the Abelton plugs and instruments are available when Live is a Rewire slave.

If you have a finished project in Live that you MUST use, you will have to render, then import the Live tracks by following these steps:
-insert sufficient new audio tracks into live arrangement ...

I'm considering MOTU 896HD or RME Fireface or Cardbus. Who has had GOOD experiences with a multi-channel interface on a G4 Powerbook? I'd especially like to hear from anyone who has had the chance to compare 2 or more interfaces on the same Powerbook. How does MOTU stack up against M-Audio or RME ...

Ok guys, I know how to do it on an SSL console, but not in Live 4! I'd just like a global automation on/off switch for an arrangement that already has automation written. I realize automation can be selectively over-ridden on individual tracks, but is there a "global" method?

FYI ... If any of the 400 people who looked at this thread are truly desperate, JamieH and myself have both managed to lock the programs together successfully. No input to Logic via Rewire, just running in Sync using midi clock. The steadiest solutions involve hardware :? Check the Tips and Tricks ...
