what about when I have a filter on the track, and I want to record that swooshing and gradual metamorphis into nothingness. I did it the first time, but due to track adjustments, it seems to fast now. Can I edit the effect by using the x-y screen without losing the original material?

Automated effects

How would I go about automating my effects while using the arrangement view. I recorded everything, including the movement of knobs on my live effects (autofilter and reverb), on the fly.

I now want to be able to reautomate those movements (due to track shifting, tiem correction, etc) without ...

There is no volume spikes, or clipping occuring. I record the tracks with plenty of headroom to spare, so that is not the issue. This is why it is so confusing. It's kinda like Live is adding a subtle harsh muddiness to my guitar tracks.

Live adding distortion?

Here's my little problem.

I am recording a guitar track into Live 5. My setup is fairly simple. Guitar into Behringer V-Amp Pro which is S/PDIF-ed into my M-Audio Firewire 410. This is the signal path.

When I am monitoring (i.e. when the track is armed) the signal, it is fine. However, when I ...

The audio interface is all set up (i think). I set it up before booting up Live, and set the sync to external Coaxial.

Is there a way I can reroute th eoutputs of my 410 to be picked up by ableton. For example, I have the SPDIF outputting on 1/2. Can I set up Live to have an input from that output?

The option itself is unclickable, but clicking on Hardware Setup brings up my M-Audio control panel. It is set to sync to External Coaxial.

This problem is confusing because it *should* work. Very frustrating.

Live and S/PDIF issue?

I am using a Behringer V-Amp Pro connected to my M-Audio 410 with by S/PDIF. I am getting a signal with M-Audio's control panel, and the proper output.

Unfortunately, after an initial signal recognition a couple of weeks ago, Live is not picking up the signal.(the track is armed and everything ...

Recording multiple takes

Here's my situation.

There is a part in one of my audio clips that I am not pleased with, and I want to re-record it. (So far, so good). From reading the manual, I have figured that the only way to do so is to use the loop function with the punch in/out buttons enabled, so it would record the ...

Midi and Guitar conflict?

I have recorded a simple drum loop with impulse to play along to while recording guitar, but whenever I go to record guitar, a) I can't hear a signal, and b) nothing gets recorded (which would cause a)

My audio track is armed, so what am I doing wrong. I tried looking through the manual, but had no ...

hmm...so, if I was recording 2 guitars simultaneously, and clicked 1+2, I'm guessing that one guitar is on the left, and one on the right?

A quick question on this topic. (warning...new user)

When I'm recording my guitar through my M-Audio 410, It is registering as a mono signal, so when I hear it played back in Live, it is played through my left headphone only. How can I fix this so that it plays in both?

thanks!

edit: hehe ...
