i did a show a couple nights ago using more midi gear than i normally do. using ableton i had an alesis q25, 2 launch pads, a korg sampler, novation nio, running everything through a powered usb hub into my mac book pro, then out through novation nio. 30 minutes into the set, half the midi devices ...

i use the novation nio. it's cheap probably 150, small and i've been using the same unit to perform and dj for about 1.5 yrs and no problems with it. 2 inputs, rca and xlr/1/4 inch, 2 sets of rca outputs. though i know they were not making it for a second, but i think it's back

I've been using the NIO 2/4 to DJ and perform with ableton live...
when performing, i run a mic into NIO, use some Direct FX, then through ableton then back out through the NIO along with playback, samples, midi controlled synths and such with vox out of outputs 1/2
