It Sounds like it's worth it if only just to have 16 preamps with EQ and effects immediately. I'd love to hear more people voice their experience with this. I love the my MOTU 828 but a built in EQ would definitely streamline my recording process. A shame those faders couldn't control LIVE though. O...

Re: Control surface, Alesis MultiMix Mixers with FireWire
I'm surprised no one has asked this question yet. The specs on the Alesis site are pretty vague. We either have a sleeper amazing piece of hardware or something that has some serious flaws. At 500 for the 16 channel it still appears to be a better deal than a MOTU. If anyone knows anything about thi...

So I stopped reading all these replies. But I thought I'd weigh in here. Although I definitely can understand Mbreaks sentiment, I'd rather opt for more features in Live no matter what they are. I've been using Live since V.1 and it's always been the program I could could count on to help me push my...

Modulation wheel won't modulate live
I'm a modulation wheel fiend. but, despite the blinking in the midi box saying it senses the modulation wheel, when i try to make it control something it doesn't register. Do i have to change something in the keyboard? don't get it.

Cubase is good if you're layering a bunch of audio tracks. I've done a few 3 minute tracks in Live with only 3 audio tracks and 3 midi tracks and once I added effects I was maxing out the program. Cubase can just handle more if you're working linearly. I also think if you're working traditionally, i...

Modulation Wheel in Ableton?
So, does anyone know how to get Ableton Simpler synths to respond in the traditional way to the Modulation wheel on a Midi controller? It's got to be simple but I haven't got it to work as of yet.

Hey, I just tried this out yesterday. I was blown away by how good it was...did someone forget to mention that Amplitube in Live is frickin amazing?? I don't know about real CC control, but i know that if you go into the bottom window that houses the effect in the Live interface, expand it and click...

well, it's definititely a temptation. I've had such bad experiences with PCs though. I was a PC guy, but when they die it ain't pretty. I'd rather be a one computer type of guy too. But what I'm hearing is that there isn't a quick way to solve memory issues on mac. that's pretty unfortunate. guess i...

Ableton Demands total CPU
Ok, so once again I can barely get away with using Live as my one and only DAW because of CPU issues. The problem is when you start using multiple effects you run out of CPU frighteningly fast. I kid you not, my powerbook turned off on my the other night during a session do to intense CPU usage. Any...
