Re: How to make the chain selector activate one device at a time
OK - worked it out. Thanks for the responses. Mapped the chain selector to one macro knob. Then mapped another macro to the each effect enable button. Set min and max values for each instrument which means they're only active when the chain selector macro is on them. Then mapped both chain select ...

How to make the chain selector activate one device at a time
Hi - I've been searching for a way to do this: I have a series of racks with one device per slot. The chain selector is mapped to a macro control, which connects to a knob. So, I turn the knob, and go from chain 1, to 2, to 3, and so on, and each one contains a different instrument. However, at the ...

Selecting the next chain with the same midi note
Hi - I'd like to use one midi note to effectively scroll through a list of chains in a rack.
Imagine I tap a C, which selects chain 1, then I tap it again and it selects chain 2, then chain 3, and so on.
Is there a way to do this? I know I can change to another chain by sending a different note and ...

Re: Storing and selecting plug in presets as clips?
Ah - ok. I see what you're talking about.
Run multiple tracks armed simultaneously with the same plugin on it, with different settings, and then switch between tracks.
So, what's the best way to mute a channel from a clip for the duration of a particular scene?
Create an envelope with zero volume ...

Re: Storing and selecting plug in presets as clips?
Hi Slightlydelic,
Thanks for the quick response!
So what you're saying is I'd need to create an envelope where I move a control, say change gain from 0 to 5 for example, and then record that and fire that off as a clip?
Can you explain the midi out and back trick in more detail, or point me to a ...

Storing and selecting plug in presets as clips?
Hi - this seems like an obvious feature, but I can seem to find a way to do it:
Say I have an effect plugin on a track in the session view.
For example, a guitar plugin like Amplitube is on track 1, through which a guitar is being played.
When I select the next scene down, I would like the ...

No takers? Surely this would be a useful feature if it hasn't already been implemented?

Arrange view locators control and looping between locators?
Hi all,
Hope you can help me solve this one:
In the arrange view, I have a track lined up with a series of locators marking starts of each section.
I would like to be able to loop each song section, and the neatest way I can think to do this would be to map next and previous locators to midi, and ...

Logic Studio to Ableton Live Workflow advice?
Hi everyone,
We've got a whole pile of material due for release that exists in Logic Studio.
We've also got some shows coming up and would like to use Live to rework the material live.
What would you recommend as a workflow for getting loops, etc. out of Logic and into a live session that will ...

Easiest way to record into live from hardware sequencers
Hi all,
I have a couple of hours of material sequenced into a korg triton which also controls a d2 groovebox. I'd like to record the lot into live, part by part, for use live.
How would you go about doing that, in the easiest and quickest way possible? At the moment, it seems like I have to set ...

Anyone using a Roland D2 to control live?
Tip and tricks anyone? I can imagine the potential here, but I am having difficulty getting live to recognise much useful midi from my D2. I'm using it with a Roland UM-1 usb-midi interface in os X.
Cheers.
Cheers.

:D Success! I reinstalled all the drivers and checked "run midi in background" and selected ports 1 to 4 in OMS and I now have midi response. I've tried to explain my joy to the wife, and though she nods politely, I don't think she understands.

Hi Kenny,
I've got a Roland FC-200 footpedal (organ style) which goes for about $350 but is probably more than you'd need - I haven't seen the Behringer pedals, and so can't comment on that. The reason I'm responding to your post is that I am trying to use live to do the same thing as you are - I'm ...
