This is for adding corrective EQ or other effects to headphones or speakers.
It would go in the 'Output Config' section of Audio Device settings. (Maybe for inputs too, but it's less needed there.)

Each stereo pair would get effect slots where you could add either native effects or 3rd party ones ...

I just tried with loadbang. It works as intended when loading the Max device into the project.
But it doesn't work when loading a saved Live project that already contains the Max device; it loads the old VST parameters.

"Where exactly is Max looking for the preset names?" normally max is looking in the folders that are set under "File Preferences".

Yep that was it, thanks. One caveat is that Max doesn't load .vstpreset files, which Live uses for VST3 plugins. Looks like a bug.

I use a VST EQ plugin on my main out in Live for corrective equalization.
I set the required parameters as the default inside the plugin. So every time the plugin is loaded, it's already doing what it needs to do (and I don't use this plugin for other purposes).

Same reason all unnecessary software bothers me. It uses additional computer resources and takes some time away from me, when I have to deal with it. Not the end of the world, just annoying.

It's kinda rude that Ableton installs the driver for Push without even asking.

But if you insist on doing that, at least provide an uninstaller for it.

And if you're doing it for security reasons, you should change the security settings/properties of the Ableton folder, because by default the files inside have write permissions for all users. It's possible that this ...

I'd like to see an alternative view in the MIDI editor, like the Drum Editor/View found in some other DAWs.

It makes programming "one shot" events such as typical drum hits easier, because the notes have no length and you can freely place them very close to each other without having to resize them ...
