I just installed the Demo on a laptop to see how it would run on that. Its a 2.2 GHz lenovo t60 with the t2600 processor
(dual core).
Yet, i cannot select multiprocessor support - and thats bad, because the dual core was why i bought the laptop, and
its entirely for running ableton.

Perhaps a solution
Inspired by one of the posts here, or elsewhere (i cannot remember), i tried to switch off the triggerfinger (pulling out the cable) and back, and then switching off all four "ON" MIDI buttons in Lives preferences off, and switching them back on. Then live can "hear" the midi again.

Some suggestions
--- all you friendly people have come up with a few suggestions...
1) disable the power off option for the USB hubs
2) disable any ports not in use, in particular those sharing IRQ with the video card. I am not sure about this point, but I will look into it.
3) get a powered hub

same problem - no solution
I just had a "loss of connection" to my all important trigger finger. I had to reboot during the set, asking the singers to improvise something. Highly frustrating.
I have no idea what causes it, but recently I had quite a lot of these. I am using a long cable.. could this be it?

I am heavily, heavily dependent on my triggerfinger for controlling many parts of live.
