I've been a long time tinkerer with Live, but haven't put together any long form stuff.

So now I want to arrange a 1-2 set of songs with a lot of mashing up and added samples.

So I'm looking for advice on how to organize it in Live and what issues to plan for - like ram limits and things.

It's a yamaha mfc06. Old and simple.

I have a MIDI foot controller that sends CC 116-120. Live sees the messages, and I can map them, but nothing happens even when controls (like play, stop, etc) are mapped.

The only workaround I've found is to use MIDI Pipe to convert the messages to note On messages. It works, but it's a hack.
