I don't have any experience per say with the Helix board, besides checking it out at the local store, but a while ago I was looking at them. I just didn't need the whole mixer thing though. They seem to be a good deal, but you get what you pay for. I also I don't think the faders work in Firewire ...

I'm running a firepod on my non-pro macbook and haven't had any issues with bus power. I'm supprised that 2nd rev macbook pro's haven't solved that problem.

How do You make a loop that lasts 2 bars, repeat every four? Is there a way to insert silence so that the loop is twice as long, but with the second half not playing anything, that would accomplish what I'm after. Or do i need to edit the loop in a Wave editor and add A silence?

I'm in the market for more ram. I'm gonna up the 512 to 2g, but was curious if many people running ableton use low latency memory. So who's into buying super high end memory and who says its no big deal?
