Unfortunately there's no way to Rewire audio from Live into Reason. You'd have to use workarounds like opening rendered files from Live inside an NNXT or NN19, or using Recycle to import the rendered file as a REX.

I tried to replicate your situation and was able to gate the Malstrom from Live with no problems. To get gating in my case I either had to activate the matrix manually or start playback in Live so that playback would also start in Reason, thus activating the matrix.
