Need feedback on a couple of mixes
One of these I mixed myself, and the other, my mixing engineer did. I need some outside perspective. I'm not really feeling his mix and I just can't seem to get him to fix the major issue that's bugging me. I'm wondering if I should just ditch his mix all together and use my own. If you have a few m...

Help with RCA inputs
I'm running two mono signals out from my laptop to my audio interface to my in ear monitor, and then to this mixer. And all this thing has is RCA inputs (except for the mic XLR's which I've been told shouldn't take line level signals), so I'll be using XLR to RCA adapters. If you look at the picture...

Re: Are more expensive firewire expresscards better?
Yes a Firewire expresscard but it is purposed to plug an audio interface to it. And? From the side of a consumer/prosumer, company support is key, yes. From the purely quality concern side, what you are looking for and likely paying for, is the quality of the D/A, A/D converters, and if it h...

From the side of a consumer/prosumer, company support is key, yes. From the purely quality concern side, what you are looking for and likely paying for, is the quality of the D/A, A/D converters, and if it has them, the preamps. And by quality convertors, I don't just mean the sample rate. 2 produc...

Re: Are more expensive firewire expresscards better?
I already know TI is good, but spending lots of time on google hasn't answered my question of why a $60 is better than a $30 card, if they both use TI. I see absolutely no comparisons anywhere between cards. nope, i think the OP is talking about something like this: http://www.sonnettech.com/produc...

Re: Are more expensive firewire expresscards better?
Orion what are you doing with http://www.sonnettech.com/product/fw800expresscard34.html ? Playing...music? I'm not sure how else to answer that question. lol, what exactly is needed to be known for it to be relevant to my question? Music is going from the firewire card to my audio interface, same a...

Re: Are more expensive firewire expresscards better?
Make sure its a texas instruments card, i know first hand they work and have quality drivers - a bit of research on google would tell you the same. I already know TI is good, but spending lots of time on google hasn't answered my question of why a $60 is better than a $30 card, if they both use TI....

Are more expensive firewire expresscards better?
Too many choices with no logical direction. Very little data is given on any of these cards, so what do I go off of to decide which card? I'm using a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24. I've looked at the compatibility chart, which is somewhat useful, but is still somewhat vague. Assuming it's a good brand wi...

Mastering 2 or more separate tracks that will play together
Let's say I'm mastering multiple tracks that I will use simultaneously as backing tracks on stage. Should I master them all so that each track's Peak/RMS levels are loud as they normally would be, or do I want to master them so that the sum of their total volume together is around the level it would...

I really don't like the way third party plugins work in Live
It's impossible to use the same settings for a plugin in Live that I use in Cubase. Live is the one that's screwed up, because the reverb plugin (KR Reverb) that I use is waaaaay over powering in Live. The delay (GDuckDly) is underwhelming and I can hardly hear it at all when it's totally cranked. I...

How to insert/move clips on less than a quarter note
I can't figure out how to add a clip or drag it on, say, a 1/16 or 1/32 note instead of just a 1/4 note. I checked the manual and didn't find anything. It's been driving me crazy.
Thanks for any help.
