Wobbly jittery imported clips

What does it mean when you import audio and it sounds wobbly and ittery. I rendered a track and then imported it into a session and it wobbles (sample rate the same). I also tried to play a wav file. same deal. 16 bit 44k

Also another question. After I have recorded and selected the tracks I want to keep, I always have a few gigabytes of files in the 'Recorded' folder. Most of this stuff I want to delete. Is there an easy way to manage this folder without individually deleting every track I don't want?

Best way to edit individual tracks

Okay, I have a guitar part and I want to splice sections from two different takes together. I think it is going to involve cross fades and such. What is the best way to do this? I have Pro tools. should I edit in Pro Tools rather than Ableton?

Organizing stuff

It's my new years resolution to keep my stuff organized, starting with my Ableton files.

I have a hard time knowing what I can throw out and what I should keep. After I record, I usually have many takes that I want to throw out but I can't identify them. Even after I rename a track I plan on ...

Dropouts and hard disk overload using a firewire interface

I have a Digi 002 (firewire) console and an Echo Mia internal card. I am getting dropouts on a session with only five tracks when I use the Digi but there are no dropouts when I use the internal card. In both cases, the hard disk overload is blinking (I'm using loops) and I don't understand why this ...

Chipmunks

Often when I load a vst into Ableton I get chipmunks - my song starts going at double speed and an octave higher. I have to save my work, close out and open again. WTF? Anything I can do?

Using Jamstix Software in Ableton

I use a popular drum software VST program called Jamstix. When I open the interface for editing within Ableton's effects window, Jamstix flashes up very quickly on the screen and then disappears. If I close the VST and reopen it happens again and again. The only way to make it stop is to completely ...

Thanks to everyone who responed to my earlier post. I googled some of the language used in that thread (Velocity Layering) and found a free VSTI that layers up to four samples per note!

Much obliged for the link. I'll snarf the kit.

Yea, reason is cool. I guess I am thinking learning curve and expense...Also there is so much overlap between Ableton and Reason. The only feature I want is the multisample velocity thing.

Kontakt is what I use--great sampler with the ability to ...

Thanks.

I have heard about Battery. I will look into Fxpansion Guru. I guess I was hoping to accomplish this without spending a fortune.

Need Advice on Realistic Drum Sounds

I work with a Roland Handsonic drum trigger and I am into natural sounding drums. Impulse is fine for scratch tracks, but I am trying to find a VSTI or Rewire compatible program in which I can put in multisampled drum sounds. By "multisampled" I mean drum sounds that not only are velocity sensitive ...

Syncing Problem. Can Someone Please Help Me?

Hello,

I like to record raw tracks on a standalone DAW. I want to then edit them in Ableton. I imported the tracks using midi sync between my DAW and my computer. That went fine, but I don't understand how to get the Ableton's metronome to play my song at the origional tempo!

The tune has a tempo ...
