Ah, okay -- so much for that wireless idea.
Next lifetime.

Re: A night with push
I think people are going to realize over time that there is flexibility both within Live9 and Push, based on its script-based design, that is going to prove very exciting, and allow -- like M4L -- a lot of individual customization, albeit with the requirement that you take the time to learn the ...

Re: Delighted with Push!
Hi Ted,
Sorry, I probably shouldn't have said "sensitivity" -- that refers to the response curve for the pads. It's the other option all the way over on the left, "Pad Threshold" -- the thing that controls when the pads first kick in and respond to pressure.
The curve (Linear/Logarithmic 1-->5 ...

Delighted with Push!
Hi, just finally got my Push after ordering a month or two ago, and have only spent a little time with it (though I've been studying it in descriptive detail online since the first announcements.....), and I have to say, I'm absolutely delighted with it:
- with its construction: quite solid, the ...

Re: Ableton Push controller not working correctly
This may not be relevant as it's a problem I had with an Ultranova on Win8/64, and that's a USB 1.1 device, but: after much head-scratching turned out the UN only likes USB root hub and may not like one other devices are already configured for.
So the message is: if on Windows 8 machine make sure ...

Re: Logic Pro X is out.
It is a conservative upgrade, given the time, for sure.
Perhaps the main focus was on getting stable 64-bit development, that's not trivial.
Anyways, I'm fine with it as a traditional DAW for Apple-based computers (like SONAR X2 is for Windows PCs).
I don't think, though, that either will ever ...

Re: White Led colors have different color tints/shades
Wow, so pic at top of this thread is the infamous "it's not perfect white" problem?!
Jeez Louise folks, pardon me for saying you are being not a little ridiculous.
I think I'd find pure white all the time everywhere kind of boring, unless I were a farmer in Kansas......
That actually looks ...

Re: Poor PUSH
I've been into groove-box-y things with no shame for a little while now, from Roland D2 (cheep fun!) to MV-8800 (OMG the POW3r....) to some other pices. Enjoy arpeggiators, too. I easily succumb though to the "hey it's just a fancy Wurlitzer Organ with auto-accompaniment" jadedness, and even though ...

Re: Ableton Live 8.2
Going to skip the flamewar about timing.
Ableton Live 8.2 installed quite smoothly on my setup; went quite quickly, too. I only have a 3Mbps internet connection, so it took about 1 hour and 34 minutes to download. Install was on the order of about 12 minutes total (am currently downloading again to ...

Re: seriously, where to BEGIN with m4l...??
Honestly, I think the biggest problem is getting to a very clear idea of what you want to use Max _for_, that you can't already do another way. Once you have that very explicit goal in mind, and see Max as the means to achieve that goal.... well, all the details of what you need to learn in Max will ...

Re: Do you like Max for Live?
I have to say I absolutely love M4L; I absolutely love Reaktor, too! They're both stupendously stimulating to creative thinking about what music is, what sound is, how to encompass both within the bounds of the principles of synthesis and logic.
They approach that immensity in different ways, and I ...

CocoaWindowResponder Error Message
Don't know whether this (minor) issue is fixed in 8.1.1, but mentioning it in case it's useful -- this is under Snow Leopard (Mac):

Re: Max 5.1.1 is online
Hi Andrew,
Thank you so much! This is what I was hoping for, but didn't want to ask for in case it was going to be complicated on a weekend -- access to the previous M4L version.
Fortunately it's a minor though annoying problem, if you want to relax and fiddle with presets instead of deep-diving ...

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS; it's currently broken with Ableton 8.1.
