Re: Mapping MPD 32 and Live 8
The nice thing about the drum rack is, you can have a few drum racks in one set. And just switch to a different drum rack for a whole new setup of sounds.
Another cool thing about drum racks is that you can record a midi clip of yourself triggering sounds. And then loop it, and play more and also ...

Re: Mapping MPD 32 and Live 8
There should be a Global Channel change parameter.
In most cases, what they have is a channel 0 for the pads/faders to follow on with te Global parameter, and then there is the option of designating a specific channel to any that you want to consistently stay on one specific channel.

Re: Mapping MPD 32 and Live 8
I think there are scripts floating around that let you use MPDs like an APC (a 4x4 border around clips which you can move all around).
I don't feel like searching. I'd type 'mpd 32 script' or something.
Otherwise, some other options are:
1. Instead of clips, use a drum rack. I admit that this ...

Re: SIMPLER or SAMPLER's Sample Start controller mapping
i've found a fun to have a this happen. albeit without mapping yet.
using the Device Randomizer in Live 9.
i've been loading up homemade sounds in simpler..then loading up a Device Randomizer.
fire in a midi sequence, map the simpler title bar to the randomizer and it works its magic.

dont know what that means :(
He's saying that's not possible unless you buy an additional product called Max for Live and hope that some uber geek has already hacked together a patch for Max for Live that may do what you want.

Re: SIMPLER or SAMPLER's Sample Start controller mapping
Go to the MIDI TAB of Sampler. On the Mod Wheel line, select Sample Offset from the menu and adjust the modulation's amount. OK, it's not as flexible as the normal MIDI mapping of Live, but it's very easy to set up and don't require MaxForLive.

SIMPLER or SAMPLER's Sample Start controller mapping
Wonder what/if there is a work around to be able to map the sample start/ inside SIMPLER or SAMPLER to the MPD's knobs/faders ?
I was bummed when noticed it does not allow to map them
