Some of the digital distributors use software to scan for "musical fingerprints" whilst encoding it for the various digital stores, so it might get spotted even if no human hears it, in this case someone like Interscope or tunecore would just refuse to distro for you.

But if your Mac's harddisk dies during or short before a gig you're fucked. That's why I additionally would create a bootable clone of your internal HD on an external (Firewire 800 -> speed)

One thing all mac users should do if they perform live with their overly priced irreplaceable Mac's is buy a portable Firewire drive, once you've got it you should install OSX, Ableton, all you pluggins and files directly to the drive.
