I remembered that I had recently changed my default live set, so I suspected that had somehow caused the problem. I tried the suggestion Peter made in the 2nd post in this thread. It did not work, but I noticed that I did not hold the "Shift" key down ...

I need to split clips into small pieces. 1/2 a beat or smaller. they will be used in computer application that will trigger small bits of sound.

However, i am not able to make a clip any smaller than one beat in Live 8.

If the note you are cutting in two by splitting the clip is a midi note, you will have silence in the second part of your split clip. The midi note needs to be triggered in order to hear it, and you are omitting the trigger in the second clipby splitting the clip . the trigger is in the first clip ...

just put mics on the speakers and record the audio old-school style. that would work, no matter how fancy your intro is........

if the first scene has more than one bar, as i suspect it would, say it is normally an 8-bar scene, try this:

make a copy of the 8-bar scene and assign it to the scene row directly below the original scene that normally lasts 8-bars.

change the drum track of the extra copy of the scene to have a ...

i recently purchased the Ableton Suite with Live 7 (boxed version). I'd like to unlock the EIC2, but as it says in the manual, i need to do this via the "Products tab" .

But my preferences window does not have a Products tab.

anyone have a suggestion on how to get the Products tab to show up?

when i download the Live7.02 demo from the Ableton site, i get a zipped file, sized at 44.4 MB....................when i try to open the zip file i get an error message saying "The Compressed (zipped) Folder is invalid or corrupted".
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

what Laptop PC should i purchase to use with Live 7? Should i use Windows Vista? ???

I'd like to set the trigger pads on my M-Audio Axiom 25 midi controller such that the 8 drum sounds of a Live Impulse softsynth are triggered by the pads.
On the keyboard of the Axiom, Middle C triggers the bass drum, D the snare, etc.
But I can't set the pads to trigger the drum sounds.
