Yeah, I'm running Live 6.0.5 but Reason 3.0, although I do have the ReWire 1.7 patch installed.

It is a seemingly random problem - I possibly have some kind of conflict in another program or process. Ah well, cheers again.

not sure if I read your post correctly but you said you opened Reason first then Live?

that might be the first thing you did wrong -

open live first then Reason

In that case I fear I am fairly out of luck anyway, as Live crashes consistently (every time) if I open Reason once it is already ...

Ah OK, I've never seen that before. It has always been in the collapsed view whenever I've used Reason but expanding it does show all the channels on the back like you said.

The light on the front is showing that it is in 'Audio Card' mode, however. How do I flip it into 'ReWire' mode? Clicking on ...

Using ReWire; Recording Drums From ReDrum In Live 6

Hi there,

I'm having a problem understanding the fundamentals of ReWire and how I am supposed to use this virtual link to my advantage in Live. At the moment I have a new Reason file open with a version of ReDrum 'created'. I have put together a rough drum loop as an example, and I have opened Live ...

I have a strong feeling that it is the fault of my monitors after reading your reply. It is certainly the fault of certain notes and not others, and I am certainly getting carried away with listening to it in isolation, so maybe I need to put more precedence on listening to it in the context of the ...

Softening Up Synth Leads Without Losing Too Much 'Power'

Hmm ... I'd like to ask for everyones advice on softening up synths during the production process.

On some of the stuff I enjoy doing I like having a nice synth lead as the main melody. Nothing too heavy or fat - just a nice rounded little synth noise that sounds great with a bit of tinkering and ...

Hi,

the error you get (and the failed attempt to save a project you made then) is because the folder where is the original project is also a Project. Would you be saving your sets into the Library by any chance? If not, a Project is identified by a "Ableton Project Info" folder into it.

Regards ...

Unexpected Saving Problem - Ableton Projects

I've just been working on a set within Live 6, and as I went to save as self contained I recieved a message stating:

"The Live Set which you are about to save is location inside of a Nested Project, which can lead to file management problems. Please save the Set in a different location."

I'm then ...

Yeah, you're right; I got it now and it was several gigabytes in size.

Thanks for your help here; I appreciate it.

Hmm ... my Ableton library is definitely pointing in the right place, though I suspect I may have recently changed it from a custom location to the 'proper' location. I can't find the original folder though (it doesn't turn up in a search or anything) which is strange.

No problem, however; I have ...

Operator, Instrument Rack, Sampler etc. All Disapeared

Hi there,

I'm currently using Ableton 6.0.5 and have installed the following products:

Operator
Sampler
Essential Instruments Collection

Problem is, all of the instruments have disappeared from the browser for these products for no particular reason. Sets that already use the products continue to ...

You could use Abletons pitch plugin. But thats not a solution. I would get the keyboard fixed or buy a non m-audio keyboard.

The pitch plug-in a temporary fix?

I really need to practice and won't be able to get a new keyboard for a while yet.

Where can I get this pitch plug-in, and how is it ...

Check with a midi monitor to see if your keyboard is messed up.
Ah, good call - it appears to be the keyboard.

I've turned it off, then back on again and even re-installed the drivers. What else is there to do?

Ableton Has Messed Up My MIDI Keyboard

Somehow Ableton has messed up my MIDI Keyboard (Evolution MK-449C) and now it has transposed the keys up slightly, so that pressing a G registers as a C, and so on. It has only started doing this today, and re-starting or turning off the keyboard has no effect.

I even re-installed the drivers but ...
