uninstalling live

this may seem like a dumb question. ive got live 5 and the update 5.2.2. can i safely remove 5 without messing up 5.2.2? or does it need the first one to work off of. thanks

copy/paste shorcut

i was messing around the other day trying to figure out how to group tracks and stumbled across another way to copy/duplicate things. not sure if this was an intentional thing from ableton, or its just a good glitch. anyway, on pc, if you hold down the control button, then click on whatever you want...

The only list they should have is "incompatible hardware" I could care less about the 1000+ devices that WORK. Just the 2 that don't. If there is something that we've all found NOT to work... thats worthwhile info. Does anyone know of any motherboard that is up the spec (with minimum requ...

imo, i would say it depends. first is studio size. if your studio is limited on space, you would probably be better off with virtual. however, virtual also takes up screen space, so multiple monitor setups are, imo, a must. some hardware its easier to play and tweak the sound easier than doing it on...

for me, im just using an old casio 1630. nothing fancy, but all i use it for is just hammering out some melodies. when i hit on something i like, i just do to the midi piano roll and fill it in there. i tried recording while im playing, but i always go in after and edit anyway. so i figured just as ...

midi and multiple instances

ok, i have two instances of live going. the problem is syncing the two. i have the start button in both linked to one key in my keyboard, but they always have a 1 or 2 step delay with each other. is there some way to rewire one into the other? or should i just try adjusting the triggering delay in t...

not sure about 5, but in 6 you can. 6 even has a list that will show you your midi commands and their function. so if you forget, you can just go back to the list and refresh your memory.

detached windows

something also i would like to see, on the subject of multi display, is to be able to detach the windows. i run a multiple monitore setup. i would like to have the arrangement window on my main screen and have my other ones, such as browser, midi/audio track view, etc on the other one.
