Ah, yes if global quantisation is off, then it's really difficult to get stuff in time straight off. I'd have global quantisation set to 1 bar - stuff will sync up nicely then. If 2 tracks have been time warped correctly, and the start markers are appropriately placed, then they should play back in sync and you shouldn't have the need to push either track on to get it in time.

Yes you can: select all your MIDI Clips within the track you'd like to export, select 'consolidate' from the edit menu to glue them all together, then right click and export MIDI Clip.

If you have separate Clips in the track, you can only export them one at a time, and if they are looped ...

Do you not just have to make sure that the VST window is selected with the left mouse button so that it is in focus rather than Live? Forgive me if i'm insulting your intelligence there - I don't use many keyboard shortcuts w/VSTs...

Take a look under audio effects rack - you should see a few folders eg 'Guitar Amp Distortion'. These are combinations of Amp + Cabinet devices (mirroring a real guitar setup) + other FX.
