On a whim, I uninstalled ffdshow and installed the Haali Media Splitter. The video is now appearing properly in Ableton. I'm not sure what this was happening with ffdshow.

I'm making my first attempt at recording and editing some video and sound. I'm using Ableton to record the audio and sync it to the video.

I've followed the instructions as laid out on : https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/live-64-windows-video-playback/

I uninstalled the Visual C++ 2010 redistributable and Live, rebooted and reinstalled the Visual C++, reinstalled Live, and now it loads just fine.

I've recently done a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro x64 and Ableton Live 8.2.1. When attempting to launch Live, I get the following error :

This is a GREAT youtube channel for Max tutorials. It starts out very basic and works its way up in complexity. I learned a lot from these videos.

Perhaps I should give MIDI Yoke a gander then. From what you say, I'll at least be able to edit while in the background. I've been hesitant to load Yoke up due to some MIDI wonkiness reported. I'll play around and see what happens.

For some reason I'm not so sure of, all of my midi ports in the Midi Config menu are showing up doubled now. It wasn't like this before. It now shows up as Midex port 1-8, and Midex port 1-8 (emulated).

Is there a way to remove the emulated ports from even showing up. I have two Midex 8's and it's ...
