Re: Making a BPM to MS convertor, want decimal precision
Nevermind y'all, figured it out, had to do "/ .0000" so the divider would allow decimals through.

Making a BPM to MS convertor, want decimal precision
Hey guys,
Basically, I want to modify this nifty module:
http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device/188/bpm-to-ms-utility
And use a flonum instead of a number box to produce results accurate to, say, 4 decimal places. Simply setting the decimal places to 4 in the Inspector for a flonum still ...

it should especially look like that (not the colors, the layout)

Re: stop and restart at the same place in the timeline
Don't know if this works in conjunction with a controller but Ctrl + Space restarts Live at a set point in the Arrangement View (wherever you last clicked) and Shift + Space continues playback exactly where you stopped.

Continuous MIDI clock not dependent on the play button
i.e. a MIDI clock can be sent when Live isn't actively "playing". Would be nice for some keyboards like the Akai MPK series which doesn't arpeggiate properly without Live playing, and some outboard samplers that similarly rely on Live playing to receive clock data.
Basically it would allow for ...

Re: Anyone used the Akai EIE Pro sound card yet?
Totally forgot I was considering buying this as my first audio interface... back when they announced it in, what, August 2011? Seriously... why hype it if the damn thing isn't even out in February of 2012?

MIDI Clock only sent when Live is playing?
I just got a Roland VariOS and while I've managed to MIDI sync it to Live, I've noticed that it only receives a MIDI clock when Live is playing which is really annoying. My MPK25 is the same way.
Is there any way to run the MIDI clock at all times without having to hit "play" every time?

Re: Problem with Note Repeat and Arp/Latch/Time Division buttons
Gonna bump this rather than make my own topic. :) I'm having issues getting the MPK25 to MIDI sync with Ableton as well.
I go into the MPK25s Global settings and switch MIDI Clock to "External", and in Live I have the MPK25 set as a Control Surface, Input and Output, and I selected "On" for Track ...

I see the time but it changes with the tempo even when working with unwarped materialForge. wrote:time is along the bottom

A way to track absolute time without locking to a tempo?
I need to do a radio piece for a class project and would like to know how to see only absolute time on the Arrangement View in Live, if possible. I'll be using unwarped stems so as not to add artifacts to the speech segments.

Routing Velocity data of MIDI Notes to VSTs/non-ITB plugs?
Hey y'all...
Just wondering if I could route the velocity data of MIDI notes to a filter like QuadFrohmage? I know you can do all sorts of Velocity wizardry within Sampler and Simpler, but I wanted to use something other than the native Auto Filter for this approach if at all possible. Thanks!

Audio Interface, Monitors and an APC40; how to set up?
Hey y'all,
I'm planning on buying an audio interface and a pair of monitors, two items I've never owned or set up before. These are the ones I'm looking at (the EIE will be a Pro when it hits in August)

Re: Way to set a 0dB ceiling for faders without hard-mapping?
i posted on your other post there....this one is a little weird for me, i am not understanding how you feel it would be a waste of a fader to set the max at 0db, if you are already controlling the volume levels with the apc faders? do you want to control the track volume, and something else with ...

dB Limit for Faders without MIDI Mapping
i.e. you can set a fader (such as the Master or Track Volume Level) to never cross the 0dB line, without having to hard-map the fader to a MIDI device and select the limit in the MIDI Map menu.
This would be useful for APC40 users who want to take advantage of dynamic mapping but also want a 0dB ...
