i hate when they "remaster" the breaks (with some reverb and compression, sounds like shit).
where can i find some breaks ripped from original cd's/vinyl in wav (no compression)?

mm you can't make operator work like a 303; they are completely different machines (pattern programming, accent, slide, etc.). and i doubt you can make it sound like one, because of the 303 filter and oscillators characteristics.

is it a good idea to grab a track from a cd (commercial cd), run a spectrum analyzer, and try to imitate the frequency range? or at least take it as a reference for my own tracks?

how can i use an spectrum analyser (like blue cat's free freqanalyst) to eq my tracks? i mean... what should i have in mind when eq'ing while looking at the spectrum... more bass/less mid/less treble?

i remember playing around with an akai vst plugin called "rotator", that "pans" the signal in a rotating motion, with a flange/chorus-like effect. i haven't tried this, but you could make an effect rack adding an auto-pan + flanger + etc.

on the boc synths, the play around with the "vibrato" effect that's on most analog synths, or with a simple sine LFO routed to the synths' pitch

there are a lot of mainly electro tunes with a simple bassline using just a single sawtooth waveform, no filters... nothing, and i don't get that freaky thing on my ears, so i suppose there's a way of avoiding that... i can't think of anything

I've tried to do this, but i'm extremely confused. I read the manual for the "assigning midi notes to locators" with no success... & i don't know s*** about Midi Yoke (althought it is installed on my PC).

I thought this would be helpful to also mess up with locators on audio clips ...
