You're point being? .......recession anyone? Who hasn't let people go? Apple? Maybe it's because they charge 5 times the actual value of their products leaving plenty of overhead to stuff cash in the employees pockets.....and the future will tell if it affects ...

Win 7 uses a ton of the Vista core and is still in beta - I too hope it will be an improvement but steady on there Jeeves !! Vista was flying in beta too.

As for benchmarks - they are an easily manipulated feast and the only benchmarks that matter to audio and MIDI performance are never featured ...

In the past, leaving the master set to 0DB was a must, but I think with digital audio, and especially if you are going to do any personal mastering, it won;t matter as long as the levels are good and consistent.

(I mean not way quiet to almost peaking, but I am not referring to over compressing ...

In benchmarks and my personal experience, Windows 7 is the fastest OS ever!

It actually got higher benchmarks on a newer machine and an older machine than XP did. For a beta, the stabality is amazing, and in the 32bit version, Live 7 runs better than it did for me on XP or Vista SP1.

I have been playing around with Windows 7 a lot, and I am really impressed. I was dual booting Vista, but Widows 7 has been so fast and stable, I am literally using it as my only OS at the moment on my laptop.

Live 7 performance under windows 7 is amazing....any problems here or success stories ...

Buy an audio interface, get live lite....buy a new interface year later, get the newer version of live lite, buy a midi controller and yet the newer version, buy pro tools m-powered and get yet a newer version

It is, but I didn't make the "special customer list" because it is the first full version I have ever had. Everything before that was a lite version, although I have had like literally 4-5 of them and been an ableton user/customer for years now.
