for me the bigger news is reaktor update as there will be more maschine integration and new ensamble preset system.

maybe i can finaly save my own presets on razor with reaktor player.

Damn just got 7 but unless I buy another external HD then there's now way I can install all of this. Complete 7 was 90 some gigs. I'm mean serious? Who has time to go through all that? Why even tweak sounds when you got that?

you should realy dig the manual and learn about racks and how to switch between different chains etc. this way you can have 16 kicks or instruments on one track and switch them using chain selector automation in clips. you can have different efx for each clip in each track etc.

the solution is to put all tracks and clips into one live set with every rack on different scene.
my set consist of 8 tracks: kick, snare, hihats, perc, bassline, synth, chord, fx. so the kicks go to kick track, basslines to bassline track etc.
each track has its own scene or scenes.

with that ...

apc40 + hanz script or maxforlive mark's step sequencer.
apc40 knobs can be assigned to anything in ableton.
if only step seq is required then go with cheaper apc20 or launchpad.

maschine is fantastic for controlling ableton.
