Newbie help needed on looping...i'm nearly there!
What I am trying to do is simple....I want to be able to record some audio which is not to any tempo, then extract a couple of bars from the recording by triming the sample (i.e. no time stretching), and set the project tempo to match the length of the sample, so it loops. I have found a way of ...

Simple Live Question
I recently did some impromptu recording, where I recorded a simple guitar lick, but without the metronome and with the project tempo not set correctly. All I wanted to do was loop the lick, and set the project tempo to be based on the length of the loop. I don't want to warp or timestretch the loop ...

Help needed: Clip Automation Envelopes....
I am trying to get my head around clip envelopes. I have a drum rack, and have dropped a filter delay onto the chain for the snare. I want to modulate the filter frequency using a clip envelope. It sounds like it's working (I can hear the parameter being modulated), but the control does not appear ...

Automating Midi Controller Parameters
I am using Jamstix 2 w/ Live 6. Most of the parameters are not exposed for VST automation, but they can be manipulated with Midi Controllers. Is there any way in Live I can automate them like they were VST parameters?

Warp Quality Question when not warping.
I have been using Live for about 6 months now, generally with great success. This morning however, I have run into problems with recording acoustic guitar. I usually have Warp enabled (complex mode), but only because I want to loop the clip, not because I want to time stretch it (my understanding is ...

Quick Clip Question from Newbie
Can anybody help by outlining the easiest way of applying different fixed filter settings on two identical clips on the same track (i.e. I want an indentical drum loop to be played, one sounding like a transistor radio, the other sounding big).
TIA,
TIA,

Works great here !
BFD needs plenty of RAM, I am running Live w/BFD + DLX and it's fine on a T2300 w/2GB of RAM. Works really well in fact, as the Live browser is great for loading the MIDI grooves into consecutive clips. On my destop I needed to upgrade from 0.5 to 1.5 GB to get it to work OK.

I am about to purchase Live, but I as a Cubase user have been a bit concerned that Ableton might not release new unlock codes if I reinstall without an image or change hardware. This thread has convinced be that Ableton are a decent company, and that the copy protection is far, far less obtrusive ...
