A) copy the track, use one with the comp and the other without and mix the 2 tracks

B) use a wet/dry rack fx

None of these is any good having multiple drum
tracks you would like to "glue together" with a drum bus.

I usually don't use sends but since i was in need of a parallel compression with Waves V-Comp, i set it up in a return-channel and i got a delay.

First i thought that maybe the plugin does not report the latency correctly and tried it in Reaper. In Reaper there is absolutely no delay.

Confused.

What do they expect? Driving with cars they don't own, living in houses they don't own, but then they are surprised, if something needs repair or if they have to pay the bills one day?

No sympathy with such "modern" ppl.

The differences between active and passive monitors are - compared to the other influences from room acoustics to EQing and mixing skills - so small, that it is in most cases wasted money.

Forget about the hype about active monitors.
Get passive ones and a decent amp and buy a handful m² of ...

What seems quite sure for L8 is:

1) Vocoder
2) Workaround for the 128 parameter limit for plugins -> user definable parameter lists? (-> fantastic for HW-controlling)
