I changed the driver type from MME/DierectX to ASIO & boom... it works great now.

this is what I get now

Buffer Size = 256 Samples
Input Latency 8.21 ms
Output Latency = 8.21 ms

It was already set to 256 when I changed the driver to ASIO... should i just keep it where it is or should I try ...

latency?

I believe the technical term for your amount of latency is "a shitload"

try input/output of around 512 samples

what is your audio setup - soundcard etc. need to be running in asio

I droped the input/output to 512 samples but all i get it crazy poping ...

I'm just starting a new project & its still very basic (6 audio,1 midi) & i dont really see the HD light flash. Flashing means it accessing the drive so i would assume some flashing is normal.

I'm just wondering if usb hard drives would cause audio latency with Ableton. I notice that when I push play it takes about a second or so b4 It stars playing. I also notice the play marker not in time with what I hear. It's not a big deal but sometimes becomes a pain when Im working with vocals or ...

I never thought about doing it that way.

I’ve saved a default template so Ableton will always start up the same way but I’d like to take that template & move it to my laptop but I can’t seem to find where Ableton saves it.

When I go into the Ableton’s program file I found a folder named “templates” but it has to totally different ones ...

any idea's??

That pc is not connected to the net & I don't remember the last update I did. It works so I didn’t see a reason to the update it.

So I was working on a track… nothing crazy only about 5 audio tracks & 3-4 plug-ins when Ableton suddenly crashes on me. It’s kind of strange because it never really happens to me. Anyways, when I try to load the file I get a message telling me that it can’t because there is not enough memory?
