i just want to choose one of the two channels of a stereo track

is it possible ?

you can do this a number of ways:
1. use the UTILITY plug in using the MONO preset (as longjohn suggested)
2. use stereo imager VST like WAVES S1 StereoImager and narrow the ...

To add to this questions, is there a way to just slow down or speed up a track instead of globally? I have a drum track I need to fade to black but the music should be going strong.

My only alternative is creating a new clip with a slower ending.

Automate the big reverbs & delays so that they are DEVICE OFF for the fist bar (or less)

That way when you are working on a track and the delay is going, going, going you just jump to the beginning of the track and everything turns OFF.

THEN, you can go back to working in the middle or wherever ...

I'm reworking a song from long, long ago and I opened up an ancient Live file.
In my MIDI channel I am (was) running Absynth 2.0 which is no longer installed on my computer. Now I'm sure I have the patch I was using in the new version (Ab 4) but my question is:

After you render or record your audio, you're probably going to have to do a slight home mastering job on it. (Note: I use the word SLIGHT)

what's it doing (or not doing) when you try to map a slider to ch9?
are you using a different bank on the bcf2000?

is live seeing the midi come in when you move the fader on the controller?

have to ask... are you using both at the same time?

check to see what your AUDIO is setup as in ableton.
i know ASIO and multiple sound apps opened at the same time don't play so nice together.

i already imported working midi files from other programs, but ableton won't recognize them correctly.

i'd say load a channel up with as many FX as you want and go crazy...

BUT just be sure to slap a compressor at the end of that chain to compress/limit it from getting out of control volume-wise.

the ableton compressor is ok, but i'd recommend something a little more heavy duty like from the ...

off the top of my head it sounds like the file's original BPM is faster than the speed you are playing in ableton live.

tough to slow down and stretch what isn't there.

seriously, try turning off that ACPI setting in the device mangler. it REALLY made a difference for me.

i also realized (very quickly) that if anything is warped in complex mode, it is a BITCH on CPU.

i was only running one damn clip or changing clips when it happened to me, so it threw me off ...

a buddy of mine with a relatively brand new laptop was experiencing the same thing. audio dropout, clipping, etc...

i tried to do the quick solutions that i knew of:
- defrag
- delete temp files from ableton cache & local user\temp
- remove items from starting in system tray

but it still happened ...
