Kontakt is the best all rounder unless you want to spend serious cash and get all of the Sample Modeling stuff - but they're a little expensive.
Having said that, I have Ms. Sax S and The Trumpet, and if you're looking for realism, these are as close as you can get (that I've played with).

Re: Dual core vs. quad core - how will I notice the difference?
You'll be able to use more cpu-intensive instruments and/or effects.
If you like to load huge projects with many instruments/effects, you'd be wise to get the quad, but the 13" is still very powerful.

USB 3.0
USB 3.0
It has to be better than 2.0, it's had ten 0.1s added to it.

It'll definitely be Live (which helps, 'cos all my project files are Live files).stringtapper wrote:I will never understand why people want this so bad when they don't even know what it will be.
It'll definitely be 64-bit.
Understand?

Re: Which way to wire....?
Thank you very much. As for the usb situation does it make a difference using a hub ? It does. Use a powered USB hub, otherwise you'll have issues with power at some point or another, if you expand your gear-list. You've only three to plug in at the mo' though, so you'll be fine for a while. Here's...

Get RCA cables, put 1/4" jacks on one side, plug those into your 3 & 4 (stereo left and right) on the back of your card, then put corresponding cables into your KP3 inputs, then route the KP3 outputs the same way, into your card's 1 & 2 inputs (needed for stereo). Click your KP3's notch...

Re: How should I place my monitors?
They should be on the long wall, and in the middle - you'll have resonant bass frequencies popping up from your left speaker/corner wall combo which may, for the lower frequencies, either over-represent or cause phase-cancellation. Keep an eye on your spectrum analyser and you can taper anything unu...

Yamaha RM1-X. Was ill-informed of it's one-stop-shop-edness as a 17yo being spoilt for his birthday. Apparently great as a sequencer for other equipment, but the sounds are woeful, so any hope of creating anything I'd like with it was slim, plus I hated the layout of everything.. Rotting away under ...
