forgot to say that im having the same issue with reason as well with cubase

Cheers for that..I have done what you said but the issue lies with the selection of more busses it only gives me one option to highlight for some reason in cubase which is the main reason why it wont work...i have a m-audio fast track pro this should support more channels as well?

Yeah I totally agree with forge get a Microphone and do it that way or the other possibiltiy would be to get a pick up for your instrument. I have got this microphone http://www.dv247.com/invt/16184/ and find it works well but you will need phantom power 48V +/- 4V

I also have a basouki as well glad to see that others are using one..my dad is a pretty good player of it well does it on a professional level. I would not personnely use the Beringer mixer I find them to have a high level of noise I would prob go for the DI box on this occasion cheaper as well ...
