Ableton Live doesn't have any side chaining option,
you can achieve that only thru rewiring with another program or you can hook up an external compressor/ gate/ etc... with side chain function and routing in/out of live. voila.

the cpu % increase as you increase the khz at which you are processing audio. I also have a FW410 and I found out that at 96khz the cpu % jumps out of control.

I tried to get some advice from live users who are playing at 96khz, like what gear they are using etc... but still dunno how they achieve ...

what is the CPU usage?
tried increasing the ASIO buffer size (if you are using ASIO drivers)?

don't assume it's Live's fault straight away.
btw Live 4 is heavier on the CPU than 3, so this might be a factor with slower CPU's.

i am having the same problem
seems to only be on the aux sends, the volume faders work clean.
this is crap- very limiting...
hope that4.5 is a fix...
btw, i'm on mac...
any of you pc users?

You're right it's only the Aux sends, no matter if you have an effect in the sends or if it's empty ...

it didn't happen before upgrading to 4.04...I hope 4.05 will have that MAJOR problem solved. I have two live performance coming up in january and I don't want to have these cliks and pops all the time.
So I guess I can go back to Live 3 where this problem doesn't occur.

so my question to you monosite is this---

i understand your music is played in small quiet environments and that it is all about details....but before that session and this posting, i have never even heard of 16bit 96K as an option or of people using it.

Isnt it true that most of the difference ...

The second reason to consider playing at 96khz would be if you were in a relatively low noise area and you knew that the environment would be quiet. If you have more ambient/atmospheric noises that rely on attention to finer details 96khz will be a whole new experience.
